Al Khobar: Concrete Fragments

Al Khobar: Concrete Fragments is an architectural screening and panel held at dusk, staged along the illuminated flank of an industrial building in the coastal city of Al Khobar. This four-hour event explores the poetics of repetition, regional form, and the role of light as both material and memory.

Guests will experience a curated series of projected stills and short films across the rhythmic bays of the façade revealing projects from across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf that embody restraint, brutal simplicity, and monumental softness. The architecture becomes the screen.

Following the projection, a panel of designers and photographers will discuss the evolution of Arab brutalism, shifting cultural landscapes, and the tension between preservation and innovation. Brutalissè will also release a limited print zine on the night, titled Desert Mass available exclusively to attendees.

The event blends exhibition, ritual, and conversation. As daylight fades, light traces the ridges of the façade until only image remains. It is a reminder that architecture is not static it is inhabited by time.
